The fluorescence intensity is related to the amount of cDNA in the sample (and therefore to the mRNA level in the cell) for that gene.

A dot that glows bright red is a gene that is highly expressed in a tumor cell but not in a normal cell.

A dot that glows bright green is a gene that is highly expressed in a normal cell but not in a tumor cell.
