Case Study: Mosquito Eradication Program (Part 10)

In 1988 there were very few cases of dengue recorded.

Households did have mosquitoes, but overall infestation rates were low, 1% and less.

Intervention activities were high but variable during this time.

Overall, the 1988 data support that interventions can effectively reduce infestations and cut dengue infections.

Three stacked graphs titled Percent of houses covered, Percent of houses infested, and Cases of dengue, double as the y-axes. The x-axis of all 3 graphs is labeled Year and ranges from 1986 to 1989 with 1988 highlighted. The data show over 75% of houses are covered, less than 1% of houses infested, and very few cases of dengue in 1988.
