Question 3 of 3

Based on the data you collected in Module 1 and the Sorenson’s index calculations, are diets typically more similar between two grazers (in other words, within a guild) or between a grazer and a browser (across guilds).

The Sorenson’s index value for dik-dik and impala, two browsers, is 0.33. For comparison, the value for impala and buffalo, a browser and a grazer, is 0.37. These close values show that diets are not always more similar within guilds. However, diets are also not always more similar across guilds.
