Virochip Design: Part 12

We can again conclude that the sample contains a virus in the family α. The pattern is different from virus A and B, so it’s a new virus. Because it shares one variable sequence with virus B, it’s probably a closer relative to virus B than to virus A.

Genome maps of Virus A and Virus B from Family alpha with conserved regions alpha 1 and alpha 2 and variable regions A-1, A-2, B-1, and B-2 marked.
An open tube marked Sample 4 with an arrow that points to a 6-spot Virochip with bright green spots marked alpha 1, alpha 2, and B-2, and khaki spots labeled A-1, A-2, and B-1.
