Zebrafish Fin Regeneration
Zebrafish are also capable of regenerating their tails. The pictures show a tail 1 day after amputation (left) and 10 days after amputation (right), with the arrows indicating the amputation line.
During regeneration, the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway is activated and is thought to regulate blastema formation. The Wnt/beta-catenin pathway also seems to regulate Fgf signaling.
