Probe and Identify Sensory Neurons

This section simulates a real neurophysiological experiment that explores the leech's nervous system. You may want to review background on the Neuron, Resting Potential, Action Potential, and Voltage Display before starting the simulation.

Several pieces of lab equipment are set up together. On the right is a dissection microscope, which is positioned over the dish holding the leech section. There are several tools to the left of the microscope. The tools are used to place a very fine glass electrode precisely into the leech neuron.
