Leech Dissection: Step 10

One section of the leech is isolated by making two parallel cuts across the body (perpendicular to the anterior-posterior axis). The cuts are spaced far enough apart so that the section contains at least one ganglion.

An overview of the cut-open leech in the dissection dish. Two dashed parallel lines are drawn perpendicular to the length of the leech. The lines are positioned around a ganglion near the middle of the leech, with one line slightly anterior to the ganglion and the other line slightly posterior to the ganglion.
