Experimental Spinal Cord Injury Repair

Spinal cord injury is an area of intense research where stem cell therapy is generating high hopes.

Experiments grafting human neural stem cells into mice with spinal cord injuries have produced encouraging results—the cells differentiated appropriately and helped the mice recover motor function.

However, such treatment is still experimental, and it will take years of research before a clinical therapy is available.
