CO2 Concentration Is Closely Linked to Fluctuations in Atmospheric Temperatures over Long Timescales

Two graphs. The graph on the left measures temperature in degrees Celsius, the ratio of oxygen isotopes, and age in millions of years ago. The graph on the right, titled CO2 Proxy, measures atmospheric carbon dioxide in parts per million using several proxy measurements (Stomata, Phytoplankton, Paleosols, Liverworts, Boron, B/Ca, Nahcolite-trona) on the x-axis and age in millions of years ago on the y-axis. The data show the Temperature directly rises and falls with the changes in Atmospheric CO2 over millions of years.
Note: The relationship between temperature and CO2 is more than a correlation: it is confirmation of a prediction.
