Experiment 1: Analyze Stickleback Fish from Lakes

Part 3: Graphing Your Data

After you have scored the fish in Experiment 1, this page will have links to download a spreadsheet and view a graph of your data.

In this experiment, you have scored the pelvic structures of two populations of stickleback fish: one from Bear Paw Lake and the other from Frog Lake.

You can probably see some differences just by looking at the numbers in the chart. One way to more accurately visualize these differences is to graph the data. In this portion of the experiment, you will create a bar graph with the data you collected.

You have two choices on how to proceed:

1. You can download the data you collected into a spreadsheet program that allows you to construct the graph on your own. If you have the program Microsoft Excel on your computer or if you have access to Google Docs, click here for instructions on how to download and graph the data.

2. If you don't have access to a spreadsheet program, click here for an automated version of your graph.
