Transfer RNAs (tRNAs) are small RNA molecules about 76 nucleotides in length. They are folded into complex shapes.

Each type of tRNA has a specific amino acid attached to it and recognizes a specific triplet codon of an mRNA. Thus, tRNA plays a key role in translating the nucleotide sequence to an amino acid sequence.
