Creative Collaboration

Some of science’s most profound questions call for collaboration – between labs, disciplines, and sometimes even thousands of people.

This freshwater snail is infected with thousands of blood flukes. To visualize these Schistosome parasites, the snail’s tissues were rendered transparent and treated with a fluorescent molecule that binds to the parasite.
